Terms of Service

Terms governing use of our products and services.

Effective date: July 2026

These terms of service (“Terms”) govern your use of software products published by Rock River Research, LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”), including RockWiFi™ Pro, RockWiFi™ Essentials, RockTerm™, and any future products we release (collectively, “the Software”). By using any of our products, you agree to these Terms.

Acceptance

By downloading, installing, or using the Software, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Software.

License

The Software is licensed, not sold. Products are available through the Microsoft Store as either a one-time purchase or a recurring monthly subscription, depending on the product. Each license grants you the right to use the Software for personal or commercial purposes on devices associated with your Microsoft account, in accordance with the Microsoft Store’s terms of use. You may not sublicense, lease, or transfer your license except as permitted by Microsoft Store policies.

AI Features

Certain products (currently RockTerm) include optional AI-assisted features that are provided on an “as-is” basis. AI-generated output may be inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate for your specific situation. You are solely responsible for reviewing and verifying any actions, commands, or configurations suggested by AI features before executing them. Do not rely on AI output for critical infrastructure changes without independent verification. Rock River Research makes no guarantees regarding the accuracy, reliability, or suitability of AI-generated content.

Network Diagnostics

Certain products (RockWiFi Pro, RockWiFi Essentials) perform standard network diagnostic checks — including DNS lookups, reachability tests, latency measurements, and Wi-Fi scanning — to measure connectivity and analyze your network environment. These checks are performed locally and do not upload your Wi-Fi scan data, survey results, or diagnostic findings to Rock River Research or any third party.

Prohibited Use

You may not reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code of the Software. You may not redistribute, resell, or sublicense the Software. You may not use the Software for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws or regulations.

Updates and Support

For one-time purchase products, your purchase includes all updates — bug fixes, security patches, and feature additions — for the major version of the product that was current at the time of purchase (e.g., all 1.x releases). A future major version (e.g., version 2.0) may be offered as a separate paid upgrade. Any such upgrade is entirely optional; your existing version will continue to function and receive security patches regardless of whether you purchase the upgrade.

For subscription products, your active subscription includes all updates and all new features for as long as the subscription remains active. If you cancel your subscription, access to the Software ends at the close of your current billing period.

Updates are delivered automatically through the Microsoft Store at no additional charge beyond the applicable purchase price or subscription fee.

Email-based technical support is included for 12 months from the date of your original purchase or for the duration of an active subscription, whichever is longer. After the support period expires, self-service resources — support articles, FAQ, and troubleshooting guides — remain available. Software updates continue regardless of email support status.

Data Storage

The Software stores all user data locally on your device by default. This includes application settings, diagnostic results, Wi-Fi survey data, connection profiles, session history, and any other configuration or output generated by the product. The Software does not transmit this data to Rock River Research or to any cloud service.

If you choose to store your data directory inside a cloud-synchronized folder (such as Microsoft OneDrive, Dropbox, Google Drive, or similar), you do so at your own risk. This constitutes a voluntary override of the product’s local-only data storage design. Rock River Research is not responsible for any data exposure, synchronization conflicts, or unauthorized access resulting from user-chosen storage locations.

Disclaimer of Warranties

The Software is provided “as-is” and “as available” without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Rock River Research does not warrant that the Software will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Rock River Research, LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenue, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from your use of or inability to use the Software. This includes, but is not limited to, damages arising from data loss, system downtime, misconfigurations resulting from AI-suggested actions, incorrect diagnostic results, or any reliance on output generated by the Software.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law, without regard to conflict of law provisions.

Trademarks

Rock River Research, RockWiFi, RockTerm, RockSolid Money, and RockSolid Trader are trademarks of Rock River Research, LLC.

You may not use any Rock River Research trademark without prior written permission, except as necessary to accurately identify the Software (e.g., in product reviews or compatibility statements).
