Privacy and Your DataThe privacy model is simple enough to state completely:
- Your data is a file on your computer. The ledger, imported statements, attached evidence, backups — all local. There is no hosted account and no server holding your transactions.
- No telemetry. The application does not send usage data, analytics, or crash reports anywhere.
- No bank credentials. It never asks for online-banking logins and never connects to your bank. You download files; it reads them. No aggregator sits between you and your accounts.
- No crypto keys. Wallets are tracked by public addresses only; no field in the application can hold a private key or seed phrase (see Crypto Wallets and Exchanges).
What this asks of you
Because nothing lives in a cloud, backups are in your hands — see Backups and Restore. Treat the backup destination with the same care as the data: it contains your financial history.
Assistive features
Any assistive feature may suggest — a category, a match, a mapping — but never determines financial truth on its own. Every proposed change to the ledger is yours to approve, edit, or reject, and imports keep evidence for every number they write.
